PRIDE

I ask that you give me love as long as love is in your heart;
and when that love's no longer there, then it is time for us to part.
Yes, give me joy and tenderness, and let me likewise give to you
my closeness, friendship, and myself, a constant heart and true.

But if by chance or accident, your heart should turn from me,
then let me leave with pride intact - tell me and set me free.
Return to me my happiness which you have kept so long,
give me back my broken heart - take my world and all its song.

MEMORIES

Where is the love we knew and shared,
the moments that stood still in time....
the way we touched each other's hearts,
our bodies joined in love sublime?

Where are the days of joyous abandon,
nights that flowed with lusty love?
I can still taste the love we made,
our bodies fit like hand to glove.

Time and life move on their ways
leaving our days and minds bereft,
baring the heart and searing the soul
'til memories are all that's left.

No Regrets

I'll always recall what we had, and lost,
but I'll never regret it, or the cost;
for truly we knew for a little time
what some seek a lifetime, and never find.

To have known it at all is given to few;
we had it all a while - just me and you.
It's something to cherish and look back upon
when the world seems too much, and I'm all alone.

I only wish it had lasted until
the stars and the sky and my heart lay still.

TO ONE I LOVED

How sad that two who loved so well should have to let it go;
that dreams they planned together - have gone and crumbled so.
The vows that they would make it work somehow were put aside,
and now the lives they started to entwine must be untied.

So now - the hurt, the anger, the tears and disbelief,
jealousy, self-blame, and finally - the healing grief.
Yes - Grief - at losing one we took into our mind and heart;
at realizing all we thought was ours is torn apart.

But life goes on - and so must we pick up our trampled mind.
Our loss will be another's gain - in another place and time.
And remember as your life goes through its many highs and lows -
hold onto Love as it comes to you, and release it as it goes.

YOU AND ME

You and me - we fit so well,
but what will be, we cannot tell.
Perhaps we'll be together
forever and a day;
but if we somehow have to part,
there's one thing that I pray....

That all our loving memories
will linger in your mind;
that you will not forget my lips
until the end of time.

That all the joy and laughter
and the passion that we knew
will happily come back to you
when you are feeling blue.

And so, no matter what will be,
there's something Time can't do -
It cannot take our memories
away - of me and you.

LOVE LOST

Ah, my love, my darling,
where are the arms that once enclosed my world?
Years have flown, and still my lips are yearning
for all the happiness that love unfurled.
In dreams I see your loving face aglow -
as we stroll the busy avenue;
years have come and gone without your touch,
and sad and lonely thoughts are shaded blue.

What grounds have been so blessed by footsteps falling
from steps I know not where or why they roam?
What stars have glistened o'er your pillow softly,
what prayers that plead to God to bring you home?
If only I could touch the lips I yearn for -
and bask in loving eyes that cherish me...
I'd lose the barren years and endless heartpain.
Your love is all I need to set me free.
