SOUNDS

Such beauty in our world abounds -
not only for our eyes, but sounds!
The whisper of grass in a gentle breeze.
The passage of the wind in trees.
The clatter of a bony branch
when winter's cold breath makes it dance.
The music of the chickadee arising in the snow:
the hooting of the owl in the late-night moon-light glow.
The early morning chirrup of a cheery cardinal's call...
the silence when I waken from an over-night snowfall.
The cricket in the Autumn when calling for a mate;
the plaintive cry of victim who suddenly  meets Fate.....
when darkness falls behind the day
and hungry hunter finds its prey.
Although I say that silence is what we seem to hear,
there's actually a euphony of music to our ears!

Ladybug, Ladybug, what do you see
deep in the grass, looking up at the tree?
How big is your world? As far as the sky?
Or only so far as your spotted wings fly?

Oh, beautiful Tree, so green and tall!
How do you feel when your lovely leaves fall?
Do you bow your head to the earth and weep?
Do you know it's time for your heart to sleep?

To Wolf, who travels near and far -
what do you feel when you howl to the stars?
When your footprints fall on the cold white snow,
do you smell your life in the winds that blow?

Oh beautiful butterfly so bright!
Were you placed on earth for our delight?
Where do you wander in your flight?
And where do you rest to pass the night?

White cloud, you travel the world around,
all the while you are looking down
at all the happenings on the ground,
and you never even make a sound!

Little Child - you and the Earth are one.
You must take care before it is gone.
The plains, the creeks, the birds that wing -
the wolf and bear, and winds that sing.
The mountains high where wildlife roam.
The trees and lakes that birds call home;
the valleys and the woods so fair -
we must join hands, of the Earth take care.

Birds have bad hair days,
too!! This is a photo of
the mockingbird above
after its bath.
These are two great blue
herons lifting off of
a river nearby.
An unusual sighting,
a blue grosbeak in
our backyard.

Sayings

Beauty is as beauty does.
Everything is as it should be.
The child is father of the man.
Nothing good in life is free.
These are sayings passed along,
meant to guide you through the years;
keep you caring, make you think,
said by man to calm your fears.

Me?  My sayings are the stars,
glinting in the darkness deep;
dewdrops glistening on a blade
of grass as Earth awakes from sleep.
An unseen, hidden flower reaching
for the sky - to touch the sun;
The multi-colored hues of sunset
when laden hours of day are done.

A child's clear eyes giving forth
the trust and love bestowed on me;
a mate's warm hand, and silent gaze
are beautiful for me to see.
These and other natural things
are sayings that my heart can hear,
given by God so we will know
His presence is always near.

Each sunrise is a beauty far too
precious to ignore~
Each day a brand new vessel in
which happiness is poured!

The top photo is of a hideaway stream in W.VA.
The next photo is the moon on a
gorgeous night, out back of our property.
Next is a composite photo of trumpet flowers
from our yard, a butterfly I took, and my granddaughter. (:D
All of the bird and animal photos were taken by me.
The sun photo was taken at a nearby reserve.
How generous God is with his beauty!!!!!!!
